Terms & Conditions

The formalization of the registration in Intermón Oxfam Trailwalker (“The Event”) requires that the following terms and conditions are accepted:

Definitions:

  • The event: INTERMÓN OXFAM TRAILWALKER is a walk carried out in teams with a solidarity objective. The teams are formed by four participants that will walk 100 kilometres of mountainous terrain in less than 32 hours.
  • The organization: Intermón Oxfam is the promotor of the Event, U1st Sports and NO LIMIT collaborate in the organization.
  • Team/s: Formed by the members of the Participating Team and the Support Crew. They add up to 6 persons.
  • Participating team/s: Formed by the participants that will walk 100 kilometres of mountainous terrain during the Event (in Sport Regulations they are called walkers). The Participating Team is made of 4 persons.
  • Support Crew: Made up of 2 persons that will assist the Participating Team during their participation in the Event (in Sport Regulations they are called assistants). They will travel in a private vehicle and will be allowed access at certain points of the walk. 
  1. The event is promoted by Intermón Oxfam, an NGO founded in 1956, which carries out, in the poorest countries, development projects, humanitarian action, fair trade and social mobilization campaigns and advocacy. Intermón Oxfam, with CIF G-58236803, is an NGO officially recognized for all these activities, for which it receives collaborations from individuals, public administrations, institutions, organizations and companies.
  2. The aim of the event is to raise funds for the work done by Intermón Oxfam to fight poverty and injustice in the world. It is compulsory, to be able to participate in the Event, that each team makes a donation of 200 € at the time of registration of the team and collects a minimum of 1,500 € in donations for Intermón Oxfam.
  3. All team members must be 18 years old on the day of the Event.
  4. The formalization of registration implies the acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Event and of the Sport Regulations of the Event.
  5. The formalization of the registration entails sending periodic information on the Event to the members of registered teams. They will receive regularly by email an electronic newsletter with news about the Event and regular reporting on the progress of the fundraising team.
  6. The activities promoted by the Teams to reach the fundraising minimum to participate in the Event will be carried out on behalf and under the sole responsibility of the person(s) or organization(s) who undertake them. Therefore, Intermón Oxfam is not responsible for any damages, claims, or losses resulting from these activities.
  7. The amounts paid as registration fee, or any previous donation to support Intermón Oxfam's work shall not be considered part of the minimum fundraising of 1500 €, which every team has to achieve.
  8. Both the registration fee per team, by way of donation, as the donations obtained by the Teams, are not refundable or transferable. Therefore, the donations made on behalf of Intermón Oxfam and that, in turn, contribute to the collection of a Team are irrevocable and not conditional to the Team meeting the minimum fundraising objective that would ensure their participation in the Event.
  9. The Organization is not liable for accidents or damages that the participants may receive or cause. The Accident Insurance is mandatory for all members of the Participating Team who do not have the accident coverage of the International Mountaineering Federal License Card. Non federated Participants shall be covered by the federal accident insurance arranged by the Organization, whose cost per person is 10 euros and which will be paid by each member of the Participating Teams at the time of registration and collection of credentials on the day of the Event. Insured persons are entitled to various welfare benefits contained in Decree 56/2003 of the 4th of February for regulating sport and physical activities in the natural environment issued by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which includes medical and health services, and also various supplementary benefits and that will be covered only during the celebration of the event.
  10. Participants declare being in good health and free from physical or mental impairments that might hinder their participation in the Event, discharging the Organization of any liability to any problems arising from their health status.
  11. The route that appears in the promotional material may be subject to variations in case they were needed to ensure the safety of Participants or due to force majeure situations that may require altering the route to ensure the proper development of the Event.
  12. Intermón Oxfam reserves the right to cancel, postpone, suspend or delay the Event due to risks of fire, flooding, instability of the route or any other reason of force majeure or unexpected circumstances.
  13. The Organization reserves the right to withdraw a team or a participant before or during the Event if he/she fails to comply with the rules and conditions stated in the Terms and Conditions, and in the Sport Regulations of the Event.
  14. The deadline to achieve the minimum target fund raising € 1,500 per Team is May 5, 2012.
  15. The images and materials collected by the Organization during the event may be used by Intermón Oxfam in future promotional materials. Team members agree that Intermón Oxfam captures, reproduces, and communicates publicly, and without any cost, their image during the Event.
